5 of our Favourite Coffee Spots in the Deep South

The people of the Deep South love their coffee. We have asked some local coffee nuts about their favourite spots here in our quaint little Valley. We’ve come up with a list of places to grab a cup of coffee, each with unique character, to help you find something extra special, be it a top-quality venue or an astronomical cup of coffee, these are the best places we know to brighten up your day and a great way to support local businesses during the time of Corona.

Let’s take a trip through the Deep South and check out our distinctive finds, even if you’re not looking for a good cuppa, you can just visit these special places and enjoy the road trip through our beautiful scenery.

Starting our virtual road trip in Muizenberg we head into;

Knead – Muizenberg

Knead Muizenberg is energetic with surfers, runners, swimmers and families out and about.
Watch the surf as you enjoy a flavorsome coffee. The hustle and bustle of Surfers’ corner can take you away from the common feeling of doom and gloom lately. It’s the perfect spot to just sit, enjoy your coffee while watching the ocean.

Continuing along the scenic route to Kalk Bay, a famous quaint town with so many options to grab a cup of coffee, it was a tough one to decide where to stop-off, but our coffee lovers set their hearts on Salt.

Salt – Kalk Bay

Salt is in the heart of Kalk Bay, overlooking the harbour and vibrant coloured boats. The coffee shop itself, makes you feel like you have walked back in time, its quirky feel and views of Kalk Bay is why it makes a great place to grab a coffee and just unwind… oh, did we mention their coffees are delicious.

And off we go to our next coffee shop in the old town of Fish Hoek

The Stag Coffee Company – Fish Hoek

The Stag offers a rustic, comfy setting just a couple of roads down from the beach. The coffee shop has delightful coffees, a friendly atmosphere, and is known by the locals as their home away from home.

The next stop is the friendly Glencairn, but don’t drive too fast, or you’ll miss the diminutive town.

Blended Health Cafe – Glencairn

A favourite amongst the locals, Blended offers tasty coffee with a beautiful ocean view at the Eat Surf Yoga lifestyle center. It is all about sustainability and working to co-exist with nature here. You can feel the natural beachy vibes when you visit the shop, it feels as though it’s just you on a beautiful Island with no worries in life. This is the ultimate chill spot and is my personal favourite.

To end off our road trip of the deep South we are going to take you to Cape Point

The Scone Shack – Cape Point

If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle and just unwind, this natural spot is where you need to be. The Scone Shack is the most charming and rustic little shop you will probably ever see. Situated on a farm in Cape Point, you can bring the kids to relish the open space while you enjoy another great cup of coffee in the fresh air under a green canopy.

    Great list! Having tried them all I’d have to say that Stag coffee is my favorite, followed closely by knead.
